Position: Digital Director
** Reports to:** Campaign Manager
** Location:** New York, NY
** Type:** Full-time, campaign cycle (through Election Day)
** Start Date:** ASAP
** Salary/Compensation:**$5400-$6000 per month, commensurate with experience
Position Summary:
The Digital Director will lead the campaign’s digital content strategy and execution, with a heavy emphasis on capturing original content while the candidate is on-the-road, managing the candidate’s social media presence, and developing video and storytelling assets. This role is ideal for a creative, proactive operative who thrives in a fast-paced electoral environment and can toggle between production, asset management, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
● Travel with the candidate to public events, meet-and-greets, field visits, and media appearances to capture photo, video, and audio content in real time.
● Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaign messaging and schedule; deliver fast-turnaround edits for social posts, reels, stories, livestreams, and social graphics for use across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, and other relevant platforms as well as monitor trends for innovative content.
● Write scripts and executive storyboards for campaign video assets (on-the-trail features, policy explainer videos, volunteer/constituent profiles).
● Lead video production including filming direction, editing , motion graphics, subtitles/captions, and post-production delivery.
● Oversee daily social operations including scheduling, community management, and sentiment monitoring.
● Ability to staff and support the candidate at events and engagements.
Qualifications & Skills
● 2–3 years of digital campaign or similar political/advocacy experience.
● Strong portfolio of original content work on the campaign trail or comparable environments: video production, social campaigns, rapid content turnaround.
● Proven ability to manage social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok) strategically, including organic growth and engagement.
● Excellent writing and storytelling skills—able to craft copy for social posts, video scripts, captions, etc.
● Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), motion graphics, photo editing, and common content creation tools.
● Comfortable shooting on-the-go with mobile/DSLR, capturing compelling candidate moments, and managing unpredictable event logistics.
● Analytical approach to digital metrics with the ability to adapt content accordingly.
● Strong project-management skills and comfort balancing multiple, tight, deadlines.
● Willingness to work non-standard hours: early mornings, evenings, weekends, travel required.
● Commitment to progressive values and the campaign’s mission.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
● Experience running paid social campaigns (across Meta, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) and knowledge of advertising metrics and targeting.
● Experience with influencer or creator-program management.
● Experience working in a primary and/or general election cycle for a congressional or statewide campaign.
