JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Rob Sand for Iowa is hiring a Digital Strategist to work on our gubernatorial campaign. This position will be responsible for leading the creation, management, and optimization of digital content for our 3 “Team Sand” campaign social media accounts. The strategist will work alongside the digital team & campaign staff to build these accounts from the ground up with the goal of expanding the reach of campaign messaging across the digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, problem-solver, and passionate about electing Rob Sand as the next Governor of Iowa.

About Rob Sand:

Auditor Rob Sand is Iowa’s only statewide elected Democrat. In the first 24 hours in the race Rob raised an Iowa record $2.25m. Immediately after Rob’s entry into the race, Cook Political Report released an updated rating on the Iowa governor’s race, moving it from “Solid Republican” to “Lean Republican,” a rare “‘double jump' rating change,” calling Rob the “strongest contender his party could have recruited for the open seat.”

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a political campaign(s), specifically within digital programs, managing social media content creation.

  • Excellent organization & project management skills in a fast-moving & demanding environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of platform-native storytelling & narrative building best practices.

  • Knowledge of social media channels, tools, and analytics.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

This position is full-time, would begin in January 2026, and lasts through November 2026. Applicants must have a reliable laptop, cell phone, and vehicle. Applicants must also be comfortable working irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Compensation:

$4k/month with additional health care stipend
