The Campaign Manager will serve as the senior staff member responsible for the overall operations, strategy, and execution of Wallace for Congress. This role requires an experienced manager capable of leading an effort from the ground up to secure a victory. The Campaign Manager will work directly with the candidate, ensuring all campaign functions such as strategy, fundraising, field, and communications are integrated and aligned with the campaign's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Management

Develop and Execute the Campaign Plan: Lead the design, implementation, and continual evaluation of a comprehensive, data-driven campaign plan that outlines efforts through Election Day in all areas of the campaign (Finance, Communications, Field, Digital, and Operations).

Team Management & Culture: Oversee all day-to-day operations, including the hiring, training, and management of staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers. Foster a strong, positive, and accountable campaign culture.

Goal Setting & Accountability: Set clear, measurable goals for the team, track performance against those goals, and ensure staff and consultants meet deadlines and are held accountable for performance.
2. Candidate Management & Communications

Candidate Scheduling & Priorities: Partner with the candidate to coordinate their daily and weekly schedule, ensuring their time is effectively prioritized for** fundraising call time, voter outreach, and strategic events**.

Advising: Advise the candidate on strategy, messaging, political priorities, and rapid response to developments.

Media & Messaging: Coordinate with communications consultants to implement paid, earned, and owned media strategies. Draft press releases, prepare the candidate for press opportunities, and ensure message consistency across all channels (digital, print, broadcast, voter contact).
3. Fundraising & Budget Oversight

Financial Strategy: Work closely with the Finance Consultant to draft and execute an ambitious fundraising plan and a comprehensive campaign budget.

Call Time & Events: Staff the candidate during fundraising calls, assist with donor follow-up, and help drive creative fundraising initiatives, including digital and small-dollar donor growth.

Expenditures & Compliance: Working with the candidate, oversee all decisions on expenditures, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with all state and federal campaign finance laws and reporting requirements.
4. Field, Organizing, & Political Outreach

Field Plan Execution: Design and oversee the execution of a field and organizing program, including voter targeting, canvassing, phone banking, relational organizing, and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operations.

Recruitment & Training: Recruit, train, and motivate staff and volunteers to meet key metrics for successful plan execution.

Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee the political strategy, including securing endorsements from individuals and organizations. Build and manage relationships with local groups, community leaders, labor, and allied partner organizations, ensuring the campaign maximizes their support and resources.
Qualifications & Experience

Management Experience: Proven experience supervising and managing staff, consultants, or cross-functional teams/coalitions.

Strategic Planning: Experience designing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive campaign plan, including setting, monitoring, and achieving strategic and measurable goals.

Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, outstanding interpersonal skills (listening, conflict resolution, empathy), and the ability to communicate professionally and across diverse groups.

Organizational & Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and a keen attention to detail.

Self Starter & Problem Solver: Critical and creative thinking skills, a self-starter mentality, and an ability to build new systems and strategies from the ground up.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with NGPVAN/MiniVAN, Google Workspace, and other essential mobilization and digital tools preferred.

Logistics: Must have a driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Work Environment: Willingness and flexibility to work extensive, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as dictated by the campaign cycle.
