JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
Manny Rutinel for Congress seeks a talented, hard-working, and highly organized Organizing
Director for a competitive Democratic congressional race. This position is full-time with a
December 2025/January 2026 start date through June 2026 (primary election), with the
possibility of continuing through November 2026 (general election) if the primary is won.
Key Responsibilities
●
Working with campaign leadership to develop, and then implementing an organizing plan
to qualify for the ballot persuade and turn out supportive voters.
●
Hiring, training, and managing organizing staff as the campaign grows.
●
Building up a strong volunteer program and recruiting and engaging volunteers to
conduct ballot qualification activities, voter contact, and other activities (both directly
yourself and through the staff you supervise).
●
Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key
activists.
●
Coordinating regularly with campaign leadership so that the organizing program is
supported by and integrated into the overall campaign strategy.
●
Building and implementing systems and structures to lead staff and volunteers to
successfully meet daily, weekly, and phase goals for ballot access, capacity building, and
voter contact, as well as maintain data integrity.
●
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
●
At least one cycle of campaign organizing experience; 2+ cycles preferred.
●
Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue
campaigns in a paid staff capacity is required.
●
Demonstrated leadership qualities managing paid staff (preferred) or fellows/interns
●
Proficiency in VAN/Votebuilder
●
Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.
●
Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.
●
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
●
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and
creatively.
●
Drivers license and access to a vehicle.
●
Draws from team members’ strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents;
contributes where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues
with regular feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the
team●
Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build
relationships with staff at all levels
●
Willing to relocate to the CO-08 area and willing to work campaign hours including
evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience on a congressional or other top-tier campaign, especially in a management
role.
- Familiarity with Colorado politics or communities.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Strong ties to diverse communities within CO-08.
Compensation & How to Apply
- Salary: $5,000–$6,500 per month, commensurate with experience.
- Primary win bonus: Negotiable.
- Benefits: Negotiable.
