Title: Political Director
Location: Southwest Washington
Compensation: $8,000-$10,000/month
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez represents Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. She is a small business owner and mom of a toddler who flipped a Trump +4 district by showing up everywhere, actually listening to people, and focusing on the real-world problems of working people.
Marie For Congress is one of the most successful House campaigns in the country, developing and deploying innovative strategies in some of the nation's most competitive terrain.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Political Director will identify, build, and strengthen relationships and opportunities that help connect Marie with communities across Southwest Washington. This role is responsible for finding and developing high quality meetings, gatherings, community events, forums, and similar engagements, and for coordinating the logistics that make those visits successful.
The Political Director will work closely with the Creative Director to prioritize visits that offer meaningful interactions for Marie and strong opportunities for documentation and distribution on digital channels. They will also plan and execute campaign hosted events such as meet and greets, town halls, rallies, and community conversations.
This is a senior role for someone who is organized, relationship oriented, and deeply comfortable representing the campaign in a wide range of settings. The position requires extensive travel across the district and steady collaboration with partners, supporters, and community stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Political Strategy and Planning

Identify and evaluate high value opportunities for Marie to engage with communities, including meetings, gatherings, forums, and public events.

Develop and maintain a district wide political calendar that reflects ongoing engagement needs and strategic priorities.

Build and sustain relationships with community leaders, local organizations, businesses, tribes, labor unions, advocacy groups, elected officials, chambers of commerce, and other constituencies.

Maintain a working understanding of district dynamics, stakeholder priorities, and emerging opportunities for engagement.
Event Development and Execution

Advance political events, or assign an appropriate staff member to advance them, including liaising with hosts, partners, and venue contacts.

Plan and execute campaign hosted events such as meet and greets, town halls, roundtables, rallies, and community gatherings.

Work with hosts and partners to ensure events are welcoming, accessible, and reflective of the community.

Attend all political events and represent the campaign professionally in all interactions.
Stakeholder and Validator Recruitment

Identify and recruit validators for campaign needs including television ads, mail pieces, and supporter generated social content.

Maintain relationships with past validators and community voices who can support campaign communications when needed.
Management and Team Coordination

Participate in the hiring and management of a Deputy Political Director and Field Representative.

Coordinate with campaign leadership and other department heads to ensure strong cross team communication.

Maintain organized systems for tracking event follow up, contacts, scheduling needs, and stakeholder relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Experience working in political, community, or advocacy roles that involve public facing engagement.

Strong relationship building and communication skills across diverse groups.

Ability to evaluate and prioritize events based on strategic value and campaign needs.

Excellent organizational and logistical planning skills.

Comfort traveling extensively across the district and working non traditional hours.

Professional judgment and discretion in representing the campaign.
Preferred

Experience working on a political campaign or with elected officials.

Familiarity with communities and organizations in Southwest Washington.

Experience advancing events or managing stakeholder relations.

Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS
Campaign needs and district dynamics shift quickly. The Creative Director must be ready to:

Travel to events and shoots across the district.

Work evenings and weekends when needed.

Occasionally take on out-of-scope tasks in service of the campaign’s success.
The role will require relocation if not currently in Southwest Washington or nearby.
