JOB DESCRIPTION
Friends of Sherrod Brown is hiring a Press Assistant to join our communications team. This is an opportunity to join a top tier Senate race and be on the front lines of the fight to elect a true fighter for workers who is taking on a rigged system. This is a full-time, paid position based in Ohio. The Press Assistant will be responsible for monitoring media coverage and compiling daily clips, managing media lists, managing calendars, and other administrative duties as assigned. This role will also provide assistance with campaign events and draft communications materials as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be energetic with great attention to detail and superior ability to multitask. Ohio ties and experience working with a campaign are a plus.
Responsibilities include:

Monitor local and national media coverage of the campaign and compile daily press clips

Track clips, maintain press lists, and track media inquiries, ensuring inquiries are responded to in a timely manner

Manage calendars and provide administrative support to the communications team

Draft media advisories, press releases, fact sheets, and other materials as assigned

Support logistics for campaign events, including recruiting press, preparing materials, and coordinating with reporters
Qualified candidates will have:

One year of experience in relevant work, including volunteer and intern work

Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects

Ability to manage up and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Ohio ties are a plus

Compensation:$4,000-$5,000 monthly
