JOB DESCRIPTION

Chris Backemeyer’s campaign in NE-01 is seeking a Campaign Manager for the 2026 election cycle. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and are looking to fill the position immediately through the 2026 election.

This position is full-time and based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Non-local applicants must be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive campaign plan and oversee day-to-day operations.

  • Hire, train, and manage all departments of the campaign team.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national stakeholders.

  • Track and manage budget and cashflow processes, and work with the compliance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Support the candidate as needed and manage their time as efficiently as possible.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two full campaign cycles, including one in a senior leadership role.

  • Experience with budgeting, cash flow, fundraising, and managing staff, principals, and consultants.

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic who is willing to work irregular hours in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sharp political instincts, and adept problem-solving skills.

  • Ties to Nebraska are a plus.
