Don’t sit out the 2026 cycle! The Maine Senate Democratic Campaign Committee (SDCC), a full-time political organization dedicated to building a Democratic majority in the Maine Senate, seeks experienced Regional Campaign Directors to run an aggressive grassroots operation to help us protect and expand our majority in 2026. ** The Maine Senate was a top-targeted chamber in the country in 2024 and remains an important battleground in 2026. **
Our Regional Campaign Directors will provide an essential on-the-ground presence for the SDCC and will serve as the face of the Senate Democrats in communities throughout the state of Maine.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serving as the point of contact for a portfolio of targeted candidates to assist with all aspects of their campaign, including but not limited to, canvassing, fundraising, budgeting, event planning, and earned and paid media support

Implementing a campaign plan that is specific to the districts you are working in and that is designed to give the candidates a strategic path to victory

Holding assigned candidates accountable to their campaign plans, including canvassing and fundraising goals, and reporting to SDCC senior staff regularly

Managing conference calls and meetings for campaigns in a structured and professional fashion

Implementing data-driven field plans encompassing voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots development, and GOTV goals

Building and expanding organizational efforts behind candidates that are living, breathing, and fully operational. Regional Campaign Directors should cultivate volunteer team leaders and should empower volunteers throughout the district to be contributing members to the cause of the campaign

Promoting leadership at every level of the campaign, with the goal of building sustainable grassroots activism

Building and maintaining political relationships with local activists, the party, and elected leaders

Working with vendors to guide digital and direct mail strategies for candidates
Job Requirements

At least one (1) cycle of paid campaign experience required, two cycles preferred
-
Experience with VAN/Votebuilder
-
Experience with Google Suite and other office programs
-
An organizing mindset and the ability to think critically and creatively problem-solve
-
Ability to multitask and prioritize work based on timelines and priorities
-
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to foster a cooperative, team-oriented work environment
-
Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines at once and keep calm in stressful situations

Experience managing staff or working with candidates strongly preferred
-
Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
PAY & BENEFITS:
Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, and dental insurance; sick leave, paid time off, and more. The salary range is $60,000-$72,000 annualized (or $5,000-$6,000 per month), commensurate with experience. Must be able to work with long, irregular hours, have reliable access to a vehicle, and travel frequently around Maine. This position is in-person; employees should expect to live and work on the ground in Maine. This position will run through November 2026.
