This is a full-time position with the Abdul for Senate campaign, and is expected to conclude in August 2026, with potential to extend to November 2026. The Advance Director will be paid a monthly salary of $10k per month, commensurate with experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as the Advance Director for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.

Role Overview:

The Advance Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all public events organized by the campaign. This will be a full time position based in Ann Arbor, MI, although there is flexibility with remote work and a relocation timeline. This position offers compensation in the form of a monthly salary and healthcare benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute all public events, including but not limited to town halls, rallies, press conferences, and roundtables

  • Partner with internal teams to promote events and maximize attendance and impact

  • Ensure all events deliver a professional, engaging, and mission-aligned experience for supporters and stakeholders

  • Supervise and guide staff and volunteers supporting at any events

  • Other campaign needs as required

Qualifications (Required):

  • A minimum of 2+ work experience in campaign events required

  • Proven record of success organizing large-scale campaign events

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-moving political environment

  • Must have transportation to attend events as needed

  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Drive

  • Willingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a willingness to ask questions

  • Ability to balance between competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail

  • Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate

  • Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways

  • Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Experience directly managing/staffing a principal is a significant plus

  • Previous experience working in Michigan is a significant plus
