ABOUT THE ROLE
Movement Voter Project has built the largest and most successful volunteer-led grassroots fundraising operation in the progressive movement. Our highly engaged volunteers have raised over $15 million to support local organizing and movement-building groups since 2022 alone. As a ** Donor Organizer**, you will support the growth of a nationwide network of volunteer donor organizers, as well as the cultivation and stewardship of grassroots and mid-level donors.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about movement building and who sees fundraising as organizing.

Donor/Volunteer Recruitment, Onboarding, and Leadership Development

Implement a multi-layered donor/volunteer outreach and relationship management program through calls, texts, emails, one-on-ones, and volunteer meetings.

Schedule, manage, and run volunteer activities and actions, including some nights and weekends.

Help identify, recruit, and engage new donors/volunteers – with particular focus on recruitment for MVP 101 sessions, thank-you and recruitment phonebanks, and other organizing actions in development.

Help move donors through the ladder of engagement to increase their skills and ability to more deeply support MVP’s donor organizing goals.
Data Maintenance

Maintain accurate donor/volunteer records and track interactions in the (Salesforce/Airtable) databases.

Add events and scheduled communications to the database, comms calendar, events calendar, and website.

Support the Director of Donor Organizing and Donor Organizing Manager with management of the volunteer data team and other data coordination needs, including with Donor Advisors and volunteers.

Pull lists for targeted outreach for different audiences and offerings.
Contribute to Content Creation

Assist with updating and creating resources to support volunteer program work, including:

Sample invite templates for house parties.

Checklists and tracking key resources related to house party design;

Collaborating with organizers and program staff to gather impact stories and updates for donor engagement.

Documentation of trainings and workflow processes.

Provide timely email updates to core volunteers.
Other Internal and Team Support

Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning for donor growth and retention.

Support Director, Donor Organizing Manager, and larger donor team on projects, as needed - including note-taking.

WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW

Internal, multi-team collaboration: The role reports to the Donor Organizing Manager and actively collaborates with the larger donor team, the Product + Technology team, and the Comms team. Our team works across the country, in multiple time zones, thus flexibility with hours will sometimes be required.

Volunteer capacity building to achieve more organized resources for the field: You will support the Donor Organizing Team in building and maintaining relationships with donors/volunteers, expanding the donor/volunteer base, and staffing a rigorous volunteer organizing program. The position will help build a scaled, centralized, and decentralized volunteer donor organizing program that enlists MVP donors as peer-to-peer organizers and ambassadors, stewards grassroots and mid-level donors, and acquires new donors and prospects to build a steady and sustainable organizing program and revenue stream.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep mission alignment and a passion for working at the intersection of organizing, social movements, and electoral politics.

A genuine love for the nuts and bolts of organizing (phone calls, follow-up emails, staffing volunteer events, making hard asks) and some track record of successful recruitment and engagement of volunteers and/or donors.

A genuine love for donors, large and small, and an appreciation for their role in advancing progress.

Demonstration of social and emotional intelligence, growth mindset, and receptivity to feedback.

Strong project management, time management, organizational skills, and follow-through.

Familiarity with Google Suite (Cal, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and digital technology in general.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity or ability to learn how to use Slack, Airtable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, WordPress, and other tech tools.

Experience working with volunteer teams and managing programs like phonebanks, canvasses, and fundraising drives.

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $75,000-100,000 (based on experience), plus a generous benefits package.

HOW TO APPLY
Submit a cover letter, resume, and at least 2 writing samples that demonstrate exceptional skill in organizing materials/messaging, email writing, donor communications, grant writing, marketing and sales, and/or persuasive writing.
