About the Campaign:
Democrat Suzanna Shkreli is looking for an Organizing Director to join our team to oversee the field program and build the support and capacity necessary to successfully win the April 19th Michigan Democratic Party Nominating Convention.
Suzanna Shkreli is a first-generation American, former Macomb County prosecutor, served 7 years in Governor Whitmer’s administration in roles such as Deputy Legal Counsel, Child Advocate, and the Michigan Lottery Commissioner, and is now running for Secretary of State to protect our elections and make the Secretary of State’s office more accessible for Michiganders.
Position Overview:
Suzanna for Michigan is seeking a passionate and dedicated Organizing Director to join our team. As the Organizing Director, you will work closely with the Campaign Manager to build a convention strategy, play a crucial role in the management of field staff, mobilize supporters, and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and volunteers. This position is ideal for individuals who are motivated, personable, and eager to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day management of field staff.

Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and volunteer leaders to participate in phonebanking and other outreach efforts.

Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, local organizations, key activists, volunteer leaders, and Michigan Democratic Party members.

Execute a broad range of visibility events to educate voters and engage potential volunteers, such as representing the campaign at community events.

Commitment to outreach to current MDP members as well as registering new members to participate in the convention.

Work with the Campaign Manager to build and execute a convention strategy.

Tracking the field program’s progress to ensure it is scaling as needed.
Qualifications:

Passionate about working to elect Suzanna Shkreli.

A minimum of 1+ cycle in an organizing position plus managing other staff.

Michigan and/or convention experience a plus.

Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levels.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as day-to-day tasks evolve on the campaign trail.
