ABOUT US:
For campaigns, non-profits, charities, and other organizations, reaching the right people is harder than ever. Non-profit donor files are shrinking. Campaigns don’t have time to waste dollars. Agencies and brands are tired of vendors who vanish after dropping a list. The old ways aren’t working, and too many organizations are paying more for less.
We built Leverage to change that.
Leverage is a social-good data company that works to help campaigns, non-profits, charities, and other organizations find their people. We turn behavioral, demographic, and donor data into strategies that reach the right people, and only the right people. Our AI-powered models predict who’s most likely to engage and convert, delivering less waste, higher ROI, and a clear edge in competitive markets.
THE ROLE:
-
Title: Vice President of Product
-
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
-
Location: Remote with up to 25% travel
-
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt
-
Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 OTE which includes base salary and bonus if employee and company hit assigned goals
Leverage is hiring an ambitious, hands-on Vice President of Product who will take full ownership of our core product strategy.
Our customers include some of the most innovative political campaigns, blue-chip non-profits, and leading agencies in the mission-driven space. They rely on our data to acquire new supporters, fuel their fundraising, and power rapid-response moments.
This role will build, own, and maintain Leverage’s product roadmap from the ground up. You’ll partner closely with leadership and teams across Operations and Client Service to translate big-picture vision and day-to-day client needs into a clear, prioritized plan. You will identify gaps, map out resourcing, and work hands-on to execute technical projects while also determining what should be delegated to contractors or future hires.
This is a highly dynamic, early-stage startup role. Some days, you may be designing the next generation of our predictive models or rethinking our data flow from scratch. Other days, you may be jumping into SQL or Python to fix a bottleneck, coordinating contractor work, reviewing QA processes, or steering the team away from an idea that isn’t technically feasible — all while keeping us aligned to the roadmap you orchestrate (the rest of the team is here to help!).
If you are energized by building the plane while flying it — and creating clarity, process, and momentum in a small, rapidly growing organization — we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement on the dot.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
-
Build, launch, and maintain Leverage’s first formal product roadmap, translating big-picture strategy and day-to-day needs into a structured, prioritized plan.
-
Assist with scaling the vision for Leverage’s data product — including data flows, enrichment, QA processes, integrations, and modeling direction.
-
Conduct a comprehensive audit of current data pipelines, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and high-value opportunities for improvement.
-
Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate ideas, client feedback, and performance insights into actionable product requirements.
-
Jump in hands-on where needed, assisting with data processing, engineering tasks, QA, basic modeling, or troubleshooting to move projects forward.
-
Work closely with our current data team, providing partnership, oversight, and priority direction as it pertains to the product roadmap.
-
Select, onboard, and manage contractors and outsourced technical resources.
-
Develop and implement lightweight processes or agile frameworks to track progress, unblock bottlenecks, and maintain communication across teams.
-
Support short-term client-specific data requests without losing sight of long-term roadmap priorities.
-
Lead or contribute to targeted projects that improve the quality, targeting accuracy, and scalability of our dataset.
-
Partner with leadership on scoping and planning for expansion into new channels (e.g., digital ads audiences, direct mail audiences, supporter models, and more).
-
Get the opportunity to set many key foundations of a growing, profitable, company — including recruitment and hiring of our next phase of FTEs in the Tech/Data department.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
5-10+ years of combined experience in data product management, data engineering, data science, or a related technical field.
-
You are either comfortable being hands-on or with supervising someone who uses the following frameworks: SQL, Python, basic modeling, ETL, QA, or other data engineering/analytics tools.
-
Familiarity with modern data stack concepts (e.g., ETL/ELT workflows, API-based data ingestion, cloud data warehouses, and basic CI/CD practices) — the specific tools matter less than the ability to architect the right approach
-
Proven experience owning or contributing to a product roadmap, especially in a startup or resource-constrained environment.
-
Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous requirements and non-technical ideas into structured, prioritized technical plans.
-
Experience working with contractors, vendors, or outsourced technical support.
-
Comfortable serving as the senior-most technical leader without an existing engineering team — including making decisions, filling gaps, and identifying what requires additional resourcing.
-
Ability to think strategically while also getting hands-on when needed.
-
Experience with data products involving large datasets, predictive modeling, machine learning or audience targeting is a strong plus.
-
Thrives in flexible, fast-paced environments where priorities shift frequently and no two days are alike.
-
Self-starter who is comfortable building the plane while flying it — and helping write the playbook in the process.
-
Familiarity with fundraising, political, or nonprofit data is extremely helpful
-
Ability to provide occasional coverage on nights and weekends, especially during high-intensity periods.

Founded in 2024, Leverage is a fully remote startup. Our culture is dynamic and energetic — and this role will come in on the ground floor of a company that’s building out a suite of solutions that will help organizations change the world for the better. We take this seriously, but also think the work is a lot of fun! As a growing startup, we are often all hands on deck when it comes to problem solving and enhancing our product line. That means a lot will be expected of this role, but you will also be supported.
We care about the well-being of our employees and enforce a two-week minimum of vacation per year as well as providing fitness reimbursements. We offer a flexible work schedule, which provides balance to what will not always be a 40-hour work week.
