JOB DESCRIPTION
Friends of Sherrod Brown is seeking a Political Assistant for the 2026 campaign cycle. The Political Assistant is a key member of the Political Department, supporting the day-to-day execution of the campaign’s political program. This position assists with coordinating the department’s political work, helps keep projects moving on schedule, and provides responsive, detail-oriented support wherever needed to advance department priorities. A successful Political Assistant is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn, with the ability to manage multiple requests, communicate clearly, and support staff in a fast-paced campaign environment.
This position also requires an individual with a valid driver’s license and a comfort level driving in all parts of Ohio.
Responsibilities:

Support the execution of the campaign’s political program in coordination with the Political Director and Deputy Political Directors

Assist with day-to-day political operations, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up for meetings, events, and regional activity, including department trackers and spreadsheets

Work closely with members of the Political Department to support administrative and logistical support for regional and coalition-based programming as needed

Serve as a flexible support resource for deputies and managers, assisting with projects, tracking, and coordination across workstreams

Help maintain internal organization and communication within the Political Department
Qualifications:

One cycle of campaign experience preferred, familiarity with Ohio preferred.

A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle

A positive attitude and a self-starter mentality

A strong ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems quickly

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized while working on multiple projects with varying deadlines

Strong teamwork skills, fostering effective collaboration with colleagues and peers
