Cindy Holscher’s campaign for Governor of Kansas is seeking an experienced, strategic, and creative Finance Director for a competitive primary race to replace term-limited Democratic Governor Laura Kelly. The Finance Director will oversee all aspects of the finance plan, including donor engagement, event planning and execution, compliance coordination, and internal systems. This position works directly and collaboratively with the candidate and senior leadership and is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, discipline, and strategic judgment. This is a senior leadership role responsible for developing, executing, and managing a comprehensive finance program capable of meeting aggressive goals in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the creation and execution of the overall finance plan, including quarterly and monthly targets.

Manage and optimize all fundraising channels, including call time, events, digital, and PAC outreach, both in Kansas and nationally.

Develop and maintain donor pipelines; oversee research, prospecting, and cultivation plans for high-dollar donors.

Serve as primary staff contact donors, event hosts, and PAC contacts.

Plan, staff, and execute fundraising events.

Coordinate surrogates, hosts, and bundlers to maximize fundraising impact.

Supervise any finance staff and interns, ensuring deadlines goals are met.

Work closely with the Campaign Manager and other members of senior leadership to integrate fundraising with field, political, and other campaign departments.

Oversee call time prep, briefing materials, and donor follow-up to ensure maximum candidate efficiency.

Work closely with the compliance team to ensure all fundraising activities are legally compliant and reported accurately.

Work closely with the Campaign Manager to monitor cash flow.
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of campaign finance experience; prior statewide finance leadership strongly preferred.

Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding significant fundraising goals.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple time-sensitive priorities.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and think outside the box to meet and exceed ambitious goals.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with donors, hosts, and political stakeholders.

Comfort with NGP 8 preferred and advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.

Willingness to travel statewide and work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as the campaign schedule demands.

Strong Kansas ties preferred.
