JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Details

Position Title: Director

Reports To: Managing Partner

Pay Structure: Salary, paid twice per month on the 15th and final day of the month

Rate of Pay: $87,000 annually

Overtime: Not eligible for overtime

**Schedule: **Full-time; minimum availability Mon-Fri 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET, with occasional irregular hours required, including evenings and weekends, particularly close to Election Day

Location: This is a fully-remote position. All employees must be physically located in the United States.

Health Benefits: Optimize provides health, vision, and dental insurance to our employees. We pay 80% of monthly premiums for employees and 40% for dependents.

Other Benefits: Optimize provides 14 paid holidays per year as well as 24 days of paid time off. Employees hired before April of each year also have an additional “Cool Down Period” available in which they may take five consecutive business days off of work between May and August to avoid burnout in the fall.

Position Summary

The Director will play a critical role at Optimize, touching all aspects of our company, from client services to internal operations.

The position will responsible for managing all projects and day-to-day work for a set of clients, under the direction of the Managing Partner. The Director will act as an expert to our clients, advising them on their infrastructure, staff management, and other more. They will lead client meetings and manage clients through various projects that could include budgeting, people operations, human resources challenges, GOTV programs, and more. This position will work closely with the rest of our team to accomplish their goals. This position is one that requires flexibility, independent problem solving, creative thinking, and knowledge of campaign operations.

Key Responsibilities

Client relationship management: Manage a set of clients, forming relationships with members of leadership and other employees with whom we interact to meet and exceed expectations. Lead weekly meeting with each client by preparing agendas, providing guidance, and giving updates on action items.

Strategic consultation: Provide recommendations to clients on operational challenges by working closely with the rest of the Optimize team to draft recommendations, get them approved by leadership, and explain them to our clients.

Tailored service solutions: Tailor existing Optimize solutions to the specific needs of each client, iterating on our established systems to provide excellent results.

Work organization and management: Intake, track, organize, and complete work related to Optimize clients, which will include many different simultaneous projects.

**Administrative tasks: **Maintain Optimize systems by completing administrative tasks on tight turnarounds, including generating and sending contracts, financial data entry, paying bills, setting up accounts, etc.

Reporting: Regularly report to the rest of the team on the status of your assigned projects and tasks.

Collaborative teamwork: Work with the Optimize team to collaboratively complete both internal and client facing work.

Independent problem solving: Work independently to identify potential issues before they arise, analyze existing problems, and propose and execute on solutions.

Documentation: Document all systems, work, and results in Optimize’s internal Knowledge Base and other systems.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Extensive general operations experience: 7–10 years of progressive generalist Operations experience in political, non-profit, or similar organization, including significant experience in financial operations. Applicants with experience in multiple industries and/or entity types preferred.

  • Client services (internal or external): 2+ years of direct experience in a client-facing role or role with internal service delivery duties.
