JOB DESCRIPTION

Jordan for Maine is hiring Field Organizers to join our growing team for the 2026 election cycle. Field Organizers will be responsible for speaking with voters and coordinating with volunteers in one of the most competitive and important US House elections in the nation. These positions are full-time and are open until filled. They are located in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, and will be based in or near Lewiston, Bangor, and/or Ellsworth.

Reports To

Organizing Director and the Political Director.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, support, and manage volunteers;

• Manage, execute, and participate in direct voter contact, including phone banks, door-to-door canvasses, voter registration efforts, text banks and visibility events;

• Assist other staff at candidate attended events, such as town hall meetings, house parties, and other events and gatherings;

• Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a team;

• Positions will be based directly in the 2nd congressional district in the state of Maine, and it is expected that Organizers will relocate or be within short driving distance to such locations;

• Commitment to the election of Democrats;

• Willing to work long and irregular hours, including weekends;

• Adaptable to changing needs and program priorities

• Previous political campaign experience not required but a plus;

• Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence —the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways;

• Have a personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Excellent organizational, management, and interpersonal skills;

• A positive, team-oriented attitude;

• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $5,000 per month, with growth potential as the team expands

• Health insurance provided
