The Organization:
The Wisco Project is Wisconsin’s largest youth vote organization. We run large-scale organizing and digital programming to reach and mobilize students across the state. In 2026, we will seek to build on the work of previous cycles to run our strongest program yet and score progressive victories for students across the state. This will be a crucial year for Wisconsin and we are in need of talented, dedicated staff ready to take on this challenge with us!
What Will You Do?
We are looking for a Deputy Organizing Director to manage Organizing Staff and help direct programming. The Deputy Organizing Director will report to the Organizing Director and should be an experienced manager and strategic thinker who is passionate about campus organizing and ready to lead a team of talented young organizers. The role has a planned start date of late January/early February and will run through 11/15/26, with a possibility of extension. This position will be based in Madison, WI and requires a significant amount of in-person work. Supporter housing may be available.
The Deputy Organizing Director will report to the Organizing Director and will:

Manage multiple regions of organizing staff including RODs, Campus Organizers, and student fellows

Work with the Organizing Director to set the strategic direction of the Organizing program and implement programmatic decisions to maximize impact

Build a team culture emphasizing collaboration, inclusion, and accountability
-
Work collaboratively with leaders of other departments, including Operations, Data, Voter Access, and Creative, as necessary to facilitate coordination

All other duties as assigned
Who Are You?
A successful candidate for this role will have:
-
At least 2 cycles of organizing experience, with at least 1 cycle working with a campus program and 1 cycle of managing organizing staff.

The ability to foster healthy, productive work environments for a large team
-
A strong track record of successfully developing and implementing organizing programming.

High-level experience with VAN and ability to use VAN and other Data tools to monitor and manage organizing programming
-
Experience using organizing tools, including relational tools like Reach or Empower and texting platforms like Scale to Win or ThruText.

Experience working collaboratively across departments and working with external partners are strongly preferred
Job Details: Compensation for this role is $6,666.67/month plus benefits. This is a full time role.
