JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview: A progressive, Democratic candidate for Vermont Lt. Governor seeks a campaign manager for a competitive Democratic primary campaign (election is Aug. 11, 2026), and if successful, a competitive general election campaign. An ideal candidate has knowledge of Vermont, exceptional organizing, management and communication skills, and a fierce commitment to the values and goals of the campaign - protecting fundamental rights, lowering costs, and fighting for working families. The candidate does not accept corporate PAC money, and is committed to denouncing SuperPAC spending.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a statewide coalition of staff, volunteers, and supporters;

  • Design and implement a winning campaign strategy, rooted in organizing, coalition building and getting to every town, earning every vote;

  • Assist with the design and implementation of a modern-day campaign communication strategy;

  • Draft and manage a campaign budget, manage campaign finances and cash flow, as well as compliance with applicable laws, regulations and reporting requirements;

  • Recruit, onboard, manage and lead a statewide team;

  • Oversee paid and earned media, assist with press and media relations, serve as a media liaison at times; and

  • Support the candidate in preparing for interviews and debates, as well as developing and articulating policy positions.
