JOB DESCRIPTION

The Kentucky Democratic Party has an opening for a Deputy Finance Director.

The KDP is seeking a personable, politically engaged, organized self-starter who will serve as a strategic asset to the KDP and its finance department, supporting the Party’s work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2026 and beyond.

The Deputy will be responsible for helping support and expand the operations of the party by building out its fundraising base and fundraising capacity. Such duties may include, but are not limited to: identifying, engaging and expanding the base of the party’s mid-level donors, planning and executing regional events and other fundraising activities, building call time lists for certain principals and staffing them during their call time, direct solicitations from state and local donors through multiple channels and mediums, and working as a liaison between the party and campaigns participating in coordinated activities.

The Deputy Finance Director will have responsibility for developing and executing strategic fundraising plans and meeting performance milestones, with continual progress toward larger organizational goals. The Deputy Finance Director will report directly to the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years prior fundraising, campaign or political experience. Public facing experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills – the ability to speak persuasively in a charged atmosphere.

  • A strong commitment to Democratic ideals and issues.

  • Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and NGP.
