Change Media Group is looking for a highly organized Accounts Strategist to join our team on a contract basis for the 2026 election cycle.
At Change Media Group (CMG), we drive wins for progressive organizations, campaigns, and causes through tailored strategy, high-impact creative, and ads delivered with maximum efficiency. CMG has produced award-winning creative for more than 100 campaigns and causes nationwide, and our videos and groundbreaking creative have helped Presidents, Governors, Members of Congress, and some of the country's most effective progressive organizations engage communities, persuade people, and turn out voters.
An Account Strategist at CMG is the key arranger of a project–they connect the people and resources required to make projects happen! They are self-starters and highly organized, and are excellent communicators and relationship-builders. They are the primary point of contact for clients and liaise with internal teams to keep everyone in the loop and progressing towards a goal. They give those around them confidence through their clarity and their knack for keeping details in order.
The Account Strategist will work closely with all members of the CMG team and will report to the Director of Accounts. This position can be based in the Chicago, IL office, Grand Rapids, MI office, or can be fully remote. While there is potential for a long-term hire after the election, this position is on a contract basis through November 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and Organize Projects from Start to Finish

Gain a full understanding of a project, including key players and decision-makers, context, goals, and obstacles. As the primary liaison between the client and the internal team, you’ll be the owner of important information.

Collaborate with the Executive Team to identify and articulate the strategy we will employ to accomplish a client’s goal.

Create and maintain agendas, timelines and budgets. You’ll lead all internal and external check-in calls about the project, keeping track of what is discussed and next steps. You’ll also build, communicate, and maintain timelines to keep the project on track and make sure the project sticks to budget.

Organize the team. You’ll make sure everyone across teams–from ads to video to design–has their marching orders and has what they need to execute the project. This includes utilizing our digital project management tool to provide regular updates and communications with project teams.
Build and Sustain Relationships with Clients

Serve as client-facing CMG representative on projects, including responding to all client emails, inquiries, and requests in a comprehensive and timely fashion and facilitating solutions to client issues that may arise.

Be the internal expert on each client you work with, conducting research to deeply familiarize yourself on their structure, goals, and needs.
Content Creation

Write copy and generate content outlines for digital ads, web pages, video scripts, and other parts of media campaigns. At times, this may include reading and digesting polling results or testing resources.

Build reports and presentation decks to show goal-centered results and to aid in ongoing decision-making based on data.
Political and Digital Strategy

Maintain awareness of best practices and trends in digital and paid media to be able to demonstrate and communicate expertise to clients and team members

Contribute to ideation and strategy building of campaign plans–in collaboration with senior leadership–to execute key deliverables and move a client’s mission forward
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED

2+ years of experience in project management, campaign management, digital marketing, or other relevant fields

Work experience in a political atmosphere, whether on a political campaign or at a politically aligned organization, and a demonstrated strong understanding of current issues in progressive politics

Excellent organization skills and systems, and the ability to keep complex projects organized

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of technical and digital literacy and desire to solve technical problems as they arise

Ability to work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work across lines of difference and demonstrated cultural competency
COMPENSATION
Compensation will likely be in the range of $5,500-8,000/month, but will depend on experience.
