JOB DESCRIPTION

Hamawy for NJ is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to manage a robust volunteer operation in a highly-contested Democratic primary for US House. The candidate will help build and execute a comprehensive volunteer engagement plan alongside the field team, including affinity groups, student organizing, providing the manpower needed for a large doorknocking operation, and more. This position reports to the Field Director.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

• Managing volunteer recruitment efforts

• Running regular volunteer meetings

• Being available and highly responsive to volunteers

• Sorting volunteer suggestions and bringing to relevant staff when applicable

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is part-time or full-time in-person position in New Jersey that will end when the primary campaign concludes in June 2026, with the possibility of extension to November 2026. Campaign hours are expected of any successful candidate.

COMPENSATION

This is a salaried position that will be compensated between per month, based on experience.

• Experience recruiting volunteers for political efforts

• Experience managing volunteers for political efforts

• Experience crafting volunteer engagement plans

• Experience standing up campaign affinity groups

• The ability to build trust and work well with a large and diverse team.

• Access to cell phone/computer.

• Experience volunteering or working on a political campaign;

IDEAL QUALITIES

• Experience as a volunteer coordinator, field organizer, or similar role

• Relationships with volunteer bases in New Jersey or adjacent communities.

• Personal ties to NJ-12 or New Jersey.
