Classification: Full-time, exempt

Associate, Cultural Mobilization Overview:
The Associate, Cultural Mobilization is a junior member of the Culture team, who supports and takes action on the implementation of all Culture programs and projects. The Associate, Cultural Mobilization is responsible for task execution and supporting the Vice President, Culture with project implementation, event support, and rapid response research. The ideal applicant for the Associate, Cultural Mobilization role is someone who may be early in their career, who is eager to dig into the work of creating Latino infrastructure, and who is passionate about getting the small details right in every project. The Associate, Cultural Mobilization is not a human resources or people operation role, and is a role that is focused on the implementation of Cultural campaigns.
Associate, Cultural Mobilization Responsibilities:
Project execution (50%)

Taking direction from the Vice President, Culture on task implementation and ensuring deadlines are met or adjusted appropriately

Executing program tasks as delegated by the Director, Cultural Mobilization and Vice President, Culture, along with collaborating with other peers and vendors to move programmatic tasks and projects forward

Tracking progress to goal by implementing tasks and flagging when a timeline is not in alignment with the larger project
Event and production support (20%)
-
Researching and securing vendors, event locations, and more
-
Handling communication with vendors on behalf of the department
-
Creating and maintaining list of trusted vendors
-
Creating materials for events including schedules, briefing materials, and prep documentation
-
Staffing events including preparation and set up, managing run of show and timing, and interfacing with vendors and venues
Special projects and rapid response (20%)

Rapid response research priorities, as assigned by Director, Cultural Mobilization and Vice President, Culture
-
Other duties as assigned, based on evolving and dynamic program needs
Administrative support (10%)
-
Drafting and circulating meeting agendas, capture meeting notes, and coordinate follow-up actions and next steps for internal and external stakeholder meetings
-
Updating tasks and deadlines in project management systems
-
Clearly communicate with the other members of the Culture department in an effort to efficiently and quickly relay information
-
Ensuring payments have been issued to vendors by coordinating with external accounting and finance partners
-
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the direct manager and external accounting and finance partners, to ensure budget compliance
-

Associate, Cultural Mobilization Qualifications:
Skills

Highly organized and proactive communicator

Experiences

2-3 years of prior work experience preferred, with prior remote work experience as a huge plus

Internship experience in social or cultural change environment, such as a non-profit, campaign or start-up
-
Working on a fast-moving team, often with competing priorities and deadlines
-
Prior experience working on a remote team is a plus
Knowledge
-
Bilingual or native spanish speaker is a huge plus, but not necessary
-
Familiarity with cultural and political environments
-
Google Suites, Slack, project management software, Zoom
The ideal Associate, Cultural Mobilization candidate is:

A resourceful and creative doer who thinks not just “How has this been done before?” but “How might I be able to complete this task efficiently and improve in the future?”

Bilingual, and understands Latino culture in a meaningful and insightful way that helps to drive program work on a daily basis.
Nights and weekend work will be required, especially when the program or project schedule requires. Travel will also be required, with an annual estimate of about 8 weeks of travel per year, including potential international travel. The travel for the Associate, Cultural Mobilization role will be required based on the project and program outcomes, along with an annual All-Staff retreat.
Associate, Cultural Mobilization Compensation

Salary: $75,000 annually, less payroll taxes and other withholdings
-
