JOB DESCRIPTION

The Matt Mahan for Governor campaign is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the finance operation. This role is critical to ensuring accurate data, strong targeting, and effective decision-making across the campaign.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the finance team and hosts to track, plan, and build fundraising events

  • Staff and assist with fundraising events across California

  • Prepare briefing materials for the candidate and surrogates

  • Support candidate call time by identifying prospective donors, preparing calls, and conducting follow-up and pledge-chase

  • Assist in staffing candidate call time as needed

  • Cultivate relationships with donors, stakeholders, and event hosts in California

  • Ensure databases (Numero, etc.) are accurate, organized, and up to date with important notes, contact information, and source codes

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete other fundraising tasks as assigned by the Deputy Finance Director and Finance Director

  • Assist the candidate and larger campaign team in staffing and other needs as assigned

Qualifications

  • Fundraising experience is preferred, but not required

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage several projects in a fast-paced environment and be responsive to timely needs

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as required

  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary & Benefits

  • The salary for this position is $6,000-$7,000 a month commensurate with experience.
