JOB DESCRIPTION

A progressive campaign in New Jersey is seeking a disciplined, experienced ** Campaign Manager** to lead the day-to-day execution of a competitive, people-powered congressional campaign in New Jersey’s 8th District.

The Campaign Manager is the campaign’s chief operator, responsible for translating strategy into results, managing a lean team, overseeing the budget, and ensuring operational readiness through Election Day. This role requires strong political judgment, exceptional organization, and the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the campaign’s strategic plan in close coordination with the candidate and Chief of Staff.

  • Manage campaign staff and consultants; set priorities and ensure accountability.

  • Oversee the campaign budget, cash flow, and spending decisions.

  • Supervise field operations, voter contact programs, and GOTV planning.

  • Coordinate with communications and digital teams to maintain message discipline.

  • Support fundraising execution and pacing in partnership with the Chief of Staff.

  • Manage timelines, benchmarks, and Election Day operations.

  • Protect the candidate’s time, energy, and political capital.

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience in senior campaign leadership (Campaign Manager, Deputy Campaign Manager, or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage people, budgets, and complex operations.

  • Strong political judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

  • High integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence.

Preferred

  • Experience on congressional or large-scale campaigns.

  • Familiarity with New Jersey politics.

  • Experience running lean, challenger, or insurgent campaigns.

Compensation & Structure

  • $6,000–$7,500 per month, commensurate with experience.

  • Supporter housing available for qualified candidates.

  • Full-time role beginning ASAP through Election Day.

  • High-responsibility leadership role with significant autonomy.
