JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Digital Content Strategist

Reports to: Deputy Digital Director

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Detroit, MI – preferred move date March 2026

Description: Haley Stevens for Michigan is seeking a Digital Content Strategist to join our growing digital department working to elect Congresswoman Stevens to the Senate. The Digital Content Strategist will work closely with the Deputy Digital Director to curate content, grow followings, and boost engagement for the campaign and partner social media platforms.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who stays current with online trends and also has an understanding of how social media fits into the overall digital strategy of a campaign or organization. You must have a deep understanding of the different types of content that are suited to each social media platform and be able to adapt to the ever changing digital landscape.

The ** Digital Content Strategist** duties will include:

  • Capturing and editing content, including recording video and audio, photography, digital assets

  • Working with the communications team to apply opponent messaging across digital channels

  • Set and maintain social media accounts

  • Assist with building and leading on digital organizing projects

  • Brainstorming and proposing content and other long-term projects

  • Working with the campaign’s Communications and Research departments, as well as other internal and external partners for rapid response moments

  • Traveling and staffing events as needed

  • Working with staff and other departments to monitor social media accounts for rapid response moments and engagement opportunities

  • Other duties within and outside of the digital department

Qualified candidates will have:

  • At least 1-2 years of prior experience managing social media accounts for an organization, candidate, or brand

  • Strong attention to detail and copy editing skills

  • Experience growing social media programs

  • Good political instincts

The following experience is beneficial, but not required:

  • Prior political campaign experience

  • Video or graphic design experience is a plus
