JOB DESCRIPTION

The Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Caucus's fundraising program. This position reports to the Executive Director and works to support the Caucus Finance Consultant.

This role is responsible for executing established fundraising systems, maintaining operational consistency, and ensuring that members and candidates have the tools, materials, and accountability structures necessary to meet revenue goals.

About the Finance Manager role:

The Finance Manager serves as the operational lead for the Caucus finance program. While the overall fundraising strategy is set by the Executive Director and Finance Consultant, this role ensures the consistent execution of that strategy across call time, events, donor management, compliance coordination, and member support.

The ideal candidate is process-driven, deadline-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced political environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Finance Operations & Systems Management

  • Maintain and execute existing call time systems, including scheduling, preparation of call sheets, follow-up tracking, and pledge management;

  • Oversee donor database management, data hygiene, and reporting accuracy;

  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly fundraising progress against established goals;

  • Maintain cash flow tracking documents and revenue projection reports;

  • Ensure timely follow-up on pledges, event commitments, and outstanding solicitations;

  • Coordinate with compliance vendors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

  • Member & Candidate Fundraising Support

  • Provide hands-on operational support to elected members and targeted candidates, including:

  • Assisting with members and candiadates individualized fundraising plans and benchmarks

  • Providing support to track member call time and progress toward goals

  • Assisting with event logistics and post-event follow-up as directed

  • Conducting donor research and prospect tracking as directed

  • Serve as a point of accountability to the Executive Director and Finance Consultant to ensure members stay on fundraising timelines.

  • Support the fundraising consultant in onboarding and training members on Caucus fundraising systems and expectations, and donor research.

  • Event & Revenue Execution

  • Manage operational components of fundraising events, including invitation tracking, RSVP management, contribution processing, and reconciliation;

  • Assist with PAC and major donor outreach tracking;

  • Ensure all revenue streams are accurately documented and reported internally.

  • Staff & Vendor Coordination

  • Supervise junior finance staff or interns as assigned;

  • Coordinate with consultants and vendors to ensure deliverables are met on time.

  • Maintain clear internal communication regarding fundraising benchmarks and deadlines with executive Director and the Finance Consultant

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one to two full cycles of campaign finance experience;

  • Experience managing donor databases and tracking systems;

  • Strong organizational and project management skills;

  • Ability to coordinate multiple elected officials’ fundraising timelines simultaneously;

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through;

  • Comfortable operating in a deadline-driven political environment;

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with legislative caucuses or multiple candidates at once;

  • Familiarity with Georgia campaign finance compliance;

  • Experience supervising interns or junior staff;

  • Experience running call time programs or managing finance operations for a campaign or political committee.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for the Finance Director position is $60,000-$85,000 on an annualized basis and is negotiable, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
