JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Iowa Democratic Party is hiring a Deputy Data Director for our Coordinated Campaign. The Deputy Data Director will support the statewide data program. Responsibilities will generally include:

  • Work with Senior Data Director to identify data needs across the state

  • Build data pipelines and integrations between tools and platforms

  • Design and develop reports and tools for other teams on the Coordinated Campaign in line with key programmatic priorities, particularly the organizing and digital teams

  • Build target universes for the purpose of voter contact

  • Maintain and respond to a ticketing system for data support requests and flags

  • Support other members of the data team to complete projects as necessary

Qualifications

  • Advanced Google Sheets Skills

  • Proficient in SQL

  • Experience with Votebuilder (VAN)

  • Comfortable programming in Python, R, or similar languages

  • Experience creating visualizations and dashboards using Looker Studio, Tableau, and/or Power BI

  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills

This position is full-time and lasts through November 2026. Applicants must have a reliable laptop, cell phone, and vehicle. Applicants must also be comfortable working irregular hours including nights and weekends.
