JOB DESCRIPTION

Paid Canvasser

Reports to: Field Director

Position Summary: The Canvasser is primarily responsible for direct voter contact to listen to voters’ concerns and share information about Elizabeth and our campaign. This includes, but is not limited to: canvassing, phone banking, texting and attending meet and greets. At all times, the canvasser should represent the values and message of the campaign.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Knock on voters’ doors

  • Call voters individually and as part of a larger phone banking program

  • Ensuring voter contact follow-ups are completed and information entered into Votebuilder

  • Help train volunteers

  • Attend weekly meeting with Field Director

  • Represent campaign and support candidate at local events

  • Assist with administrative duties as needed to support campaign

  • Share pictures/videos with candidate and campaign

  • Help to execute field events;

Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

  • Ability to work effectively and tactfully with the public

  • Experience with political campaigns, in a paid or volunteer capacity, preferred

  • Familiarity with PA Politics, especially southeastern PA and HD-160, preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Access to independent transportation, a laptop, and smart phone device

  • A collaborative, positive and energetic work ethic
