Overview:
The Lisa Raymond for D.C. Council At-Large campaign is seeking a Communications and Digital Media Director to lead messaging, digital strategy, and media engagement throughout the election cycle. This role will shape the campaign’s public voice, manage online presence, and help translate policy priorities into compelling, accessible communications.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the campaign’s overall communications and digital media strategy.

Draft press releases, talking points, remarks, email content, website content, and candidate messaging.

Manage and grow social media platforms, including content calendars, graphics coordination, and rapid response messaging.

Serve as primary liaison to local media outlets; pitch stories and coordinate interviews.

Collaborate with campaign leadership on message development and crisis communications.

Oversee digital fundraising content and coordinate with field and finance teams.

Monitor news cycles, online trends, and opponent messaging to inform communications strategy.

Ensure consistent branding and voice across all platforms.
Qualifications

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively.

One campaign cycle of experience preferred but not required.

Familiarity with social media management tools, basic graphic coordination, and analytics.

Proficient in Canva.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Commitment to collaborative teamwork and professional communication.
Additional:
- As with all political campaigns, the position may require tasks beyond this description, including, but not limited to, attending campaign events and staffing the candidate at community events. Applicants should have a can-do attitude, and be eager to get hands-on campaign experience of all kinds.
