Strategy & Planning
● Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with campaign budget needs.
● Set, monitor, and adjust weekly, monthly, and quarterly fundraising goals.
● Lead and expand new fundraising initiatives, including targeted outreach to national donors, PACs, grassroots supporters, and new networks.
Donor Relations
● Build, maintain, and grow relationships with small, mid, and high dollar donors.
● Schedule, staff, and manage donor meetings both in-district and out-of-district.
● Support the candidate in cultivating and maintaining the donor base.
Events & Materials
● Plan and execute fundraising events, recruit hosts, and manage finance committees.
● Draft and review fundraising materials, including invitations, emails, and other donor appeals.
● Manage the fundraising events calendar and coordinate the candidate’s finance schedule and call time.
Operations & Team Management
● Hire, train, and supervise finance staff, consultants, and volunteers.
● Oversee daily donation processing, deposits, and database/data entry management.
Compliance & Reporting
● Ensure all fundraising activities comply with FEC regulations.
● Review and approve FEC reports prior to submission.
● Track, analyze, and report on fundraising performance metrics.
Qualifications:
● Four or more cycles of experience in political fundraising and campaigns, with a strong track record of success in Red-to-Blue races and a significant digital fundraising component
● Strong working knowledge of NGPVAN, ActBlue, Call Time AI, and other digital finance and project management tools
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong understanding of Excel/Google Sheets and be capable of effectively organizing fundraising data
● Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, organization skills
● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and willingness to hold oneself and others accountable to goals
● Experience projecting revenue and managing budgets
● Team player with a positive attitude that is also able to motivate others
● Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide and nationally
This position is based in Charleston but offers a flexible location within South Carolina.
