JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW:

Heidi Hall is an environmental advocate and dedicated public servant currently serving on the Nevada County Board of Supervisors. Inspired by the civil rights movement, she began her career at the Environmental Protection Agency and later worked at the California Department of Water Resources. As a single mom who raised two sons while building a career in public service, she understands firsthand the challenges facing California families.

Following voter’s approval of Prop 50, the boundary lines for California’s 3rd congressional district were redrawn. The seat is open and includes rural and suburban communities, including Sacramento County, Placer County, Nevada County, and El Dorado County.

Heidi Hall for Congress is seeking an energetic and driven Field Director to organize and manage volunteers for a dynamic voter contact program. This role will be responsible for developing and executing a modern, data-driven field operation focused on persuasion, turnout, and community engagement.

The Field Director will work closely with the campaign team, candidate, and consultants to scale a volunteer-driven grassroots program that reflects the diversity and priorities of CA-03.

Responsibilities:

● Design and implement the campaign’s strategic field plan, including canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and community outreach.

● Recruit, train, and manage a team of organizers, fellows, and volunteers.

● Build strong relationships with local community leaders, labor partners, advocacy groups, and neighborhood stakeholders.

● Establish and track weekly voter contact goals, ensuring the program meets persuasion and turnout benchmarks.

● Coordinate closely with the data and digital teams to ensure field efforts are targeted, efficient, and measurable.

● Develop and manage volunteer infrastructure, including staging locations, turf cutting, training systems, and reporting.

● Maintain consistent communication with campaign leadership and provide clear, actionable reporting on progress and challenges.

● Lead and execute GOTV operations in coordination with regional and national partners.

Requirements

● At least 2 cycles of campaign or field organizing experience, including prior management experience.

● Demonstrated success running or scaling a voter contact or grassroots organizing program.

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced campaign environment with long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

● Commitment to the campaign’s progressive values and community-centered leadership.

● Experience organizing in Sacramento County or nearby rural communities is encouraged.

● Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships with community leaders and grassroots organizations.

Salary for this position is in the range of $5,000–$6,000 per month, with a health care stipend provided.
