Location: Santa Rosa (with frequent regional travel)
Term: Febuary–June 2026 (Primary Election: June 2), with possibility of extension to November 2026
Compensation: Competitive, full-time salary; evenings and weekends required; health stipend included
Reports to: Field Director
About the Campaign
Audrey Denney is running for Congress in California’s 1st Congressional District to bring values-driven, community-rooted leadership to Washington. Our campaign is built on the belief that winning elections requires more than turnout. It requires relationships, trust, and people who know how to bring others along.
Our field program reflects the realities of a large, rural, and diverse district. We prioritize relational organizing, local leadership development, and a deep respect for place and community. Learn more about the campaign here.
About the Role
Field Organizers are the heart of our campaign. They are responsible for building strong volunteer teams, training and supporting local leaders, and creating a welcoming, high-energy organizing culture that inspires people to take action.
This role is ideal for someone who:

Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Relationship-Building

Recruit volunteers through events, outreach, and one-on-one conversations
-
Build genuine relationships with volunteers rooted in trust, support, and respect
-
Create pathways for volunteers to grow into leadership roles
Training & Leadership Development
-
Train volunteers in door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and relational organizing
-
Coach volunteer leaders and captains to run effective canvasses
-
Provide encouragement, feedback, and support to help volunteers succeed
Field Program Execution
-
Participate in direct voter contact through weekly canvassing and phone banking
-
Support ** Volunteer County Organizers** in smaller and rural counties
-
Coordinate closely with the Field Director and fellow organizers to meet weekly goals
-
Support planning and execution of field-related events, including field launches, meet-and-greets, canvassing training events (virtual and in-person), tabling and outreach events, and more

Help manage event staffing and when necessary, staff campaign outreach events
Culture & Team Building

Foster an inclusive, positive, and people-centered campaign culture

Help volunteers feel seen, appreciated, and excited to come back

Model the campaign’s values in every interaction

Participate in weekly organizing and regular campaign team meetings and functions
Data & Accountability

Track volunteer activity and voter contact accurately

Submit timely reports and help maintain strong data hygiene

Use data as a tool to strengthen relationships and strategy, not as an end in itself

Under the direction of the Field Director, use data to implement program improvements and adjustments

Previous campaign or organizing experience is helpful but not required. We strongly encourage people with deep community ties, organizing instincts, or leadership experience in other fields to apply. Due to frequent travel, reliable transportation is strongly recommended.
