The General Counsel of Indivisible sits on the Executive Operating Team and is the principal legal advisor to the organization, providing strategic counsel on programmatic and organizational legal matters to executive leadership, staff, and the Boards of Directors of the Indivisible entities. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal counsel on mission-driven programmatic strategies and plans, while also overseeing the full range of organizational legal matters typical of a General Counsel role.

As a trusted strategic partner and organizational leader, the General Counsel advises on legal and regulatory matters, risk management, and governance; leads and manages the Legal Department and outside counsel; and ensures the delivery of high-quality legal services in the operation of the organization, including in the areas of contracts, employment, labor relations, and fundraising.

• If you have held a senior legal advisory role in a nonprofit organization, please provide details such as size of the organization, size of the legal team, organizational mission, geographic footprint (local, national, or global), and your title/role.

• If you have held a role as an associate or partner of a law firm, please provide details on your key areas of practice and the types of clients you have directly most worked with (e.g., nonprofits, for profits, foundations, higher education).

• Your experience providing strategic legal and programmatic/business advice to senior management and Boards of Directors, including on matters of nonprofit law compliance.
