Job Title: Canvasser – Signature Gathering

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Reports to: Field Director

Compensation: $20/hour

** Classification:** Full-Time, Temporary

** Start Date:** ASAP

Position Summary

We are hiring motivated and reliable canvassers to help qualify a major initiative for the ballot. Canvassers will collect petition signatures from registered voters in public spaces and neighborhoods across Michigan. This is a fast-paced, in-the-field position that plays a critical role in advancing policies that matter to our communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect valid signatures from registered voters according to campaign training and legal requirements

• Follow daily assignments and location guidelines provided by field leadership

• Maintain accurate records of signatures collected, time worked, and shift materials

• Engage voters respectfully and confidently in a variety of outdoor public settings

• Attend required trainings and participate in daily check-ins

• Safeguard petition sheets and return all completed materials daily

• Follow all organizational safety, legal, and quality control protocols

• Represent the campaign professionally at all times

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers in public

• Highly reliable with excellent time management

• Ability to meet daily goals and stay motivated during long shifts

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Able to walk or stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Must follow legal and ethical standards for signature collection

• Previous canvassing or petitioning experience is a plus but not required

• Commitment to upholding the values of equity, inclusion, and community empowerment
