JOB DESCRIPTION

A Democratic candidate for Austin City Council is seeking a skilled Campaign Manager to lead day-to-day operations and guide overall campaign strategy. The ideal candidate is a strong organizer and communicator with experience running or supporting competitive campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage campaign strategy across field, communications, scheduling, and fundraising.

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure departments meet goals and deadlines.

  • Manage staff and coordinate with consultants, volunteers, and vendors.

  • Support the candidate’s schedule, events, and community outreach.

  • Work with the Field Director to run voter contact and track data.

  • Assist with messaging, materials, and basic press/social media tasks.

  • Help the fundraising team meet goals and maintain compliance.

  • Build relationships with local groups, Democratic clubs, and community leaders.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 cycles of campaign organizing or management experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills.

  • Familiarity with Austin’s political landscape.

  • Experience engaging diverse communities and voter groups.

  • Proficiency with VAN/MiniVAN, Google Workspace, and mobilization tools.

  • Ability to stay organized under pressure and work evenings/weekends as needed.
