Position: Deputy Finance Director

Reports to: Finance Director

Location: Columbus, OH

Description

Friends of Sherrod Brown is seeking a Deputy Finance Director for the 2026 campaign cycle to assist in our strong and growing fundraising program in this important election cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the call time and prospecting programs

• Manage the victory fund fundraising and finance plan

• Assist with the in-state Coalitions and Special Events Fundraising program

• Assist with the coordination of special guests and surrogates for in-state events

• Support event logistics, including but not limited to: booking and approving event venues and vendors, coordinating orders for mailings and other materials, and setting runs of show and staffing plans

• Review and provide edits to deliverables by the Finance Team prior to approval by the Finance Director. Materials include but are not limited to briefings, email language, invitations, and donor lists

• Oversee compliance and donor relations, including allocations, cures, thank you notes, and host gifts

• Work with the Finance Director to set goals and projections for the finance program and update the finance plan

• Coordinate with the Finance Director and other members of the team on the work assigned to Finance Assistants and Finance Interns

• Staff events and candidate as needed

• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ cycles of campaign fundraising experience, preferably on a Senate or statewide race

• Experience planning, staffing, and executing events start to finish

• Experience managing hosts and high-level donor relationships

• Experience managing entry-level staff or interns

• Experience with NGP, Numero, ActBlue, Google Suite, and spreadsheets

• Strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and passion for the work

• Access to cell phone, laptop, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation

Compensation: $8,500/month
