Location: Minneapolis, MN
Type: Full-time, Cycle position through November, 2026
Reports to: Director for Digital Partnerships & Creative
Compensation: Starting at $5,250/mo (higher based on experience)
Overview: Minnesotans for Klobuchar is hiring full time Producer / Editors who will play a key role in
turning raw campaign footage and other found content into sharp, compelling content across organic and paid media. This is a post-production-forward role — you’ll spend the majority of your time editing, cutting clips, building short-form stories, and keeping our media library organized and ready to deploy. You’ll work directly with our Senior Videographer and Director of Digital Strategy to power a constant stream of organic-first content.
We’re looking for someone who can help plan a weekly video strategy while being able to quickly react to breaking news and rapid response moments. You will produce a constant stream of sharp, unfiltered video to power a simple narrative (fast!). The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to adapt a broad narrative to the events of the day, cares about politics as a means to improve people’s lives, and is excited to join us in Minneapolis for a fast-paced campaign built to win.
Key Responsibilities
Editing & Post-Production
-
Edit same-day clips, next-day social cuts, and longer narrative pieces from footage delivered by the Senior Videographer, news sources and other found content.
-
Deliver clean, platform-native formats (vertical, square, captions, hooks) across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms.
-
Drive rapid response with quick-turn edits and clips including soundbites from events of the day
-
Support the paid media team as needed with edited raw cuts and selects for ad-ready creative
-
Maintain accurate captions and subtitles on all deliverables
-
Assist with color correction, audio cleanup, and basic motion graphics as needed
Production & Asset Management
-
Organize and upload all footage and soundbites to the campaign’s shared media library — keeping it tagged, labeled, and accessible
-
Build and maintain an archive of b-roll, testimonial clips, issue footage, and cultural references
-
Build a steady pipeline of footage for ads, fundraising, and persuasion content
-
Assist in the approval process and delivery of all organic video materials
-
Assist with coordinating shoot logistics and field prep when needed
-
Support production for major events with secondary camera, audio, or operational backup
-
Help identify unique opportunities for engagement that fits the brand of the campaign
Campaign & Administrative Support
-
Monitor content across platforms to flag clip opportunities and rapid-response moments
-
Assist Research and Communications teams on specific video needs as requested
-
Work seamlessly with Advance and Comms to anticipate and capture key moments
-
Perform other political and campaign-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
1-3 years of editing and/or production experience in campaigns, news, sports, documentary, or fast-paced agency environments
-
Strong editing skills in Premiere Pro (Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve optional alternatives)
-
Experience with testing formats and styles to identify engaging organic video content — you can experiment to learn how to make a moment land
-
Demonstrated ability to cut quickly and deliver clips in response to rapid response moments and regularly produce multiple clips and turn around same-day requests
-
Demonstrated ability to calendar out potential opportunities based on upcoming events
-
Comfortable working long hours, nights and weekends based on external events
-
Organized and detail-oriented — comfortable managing and cataloging large volumes of footage
-
Familiarity with social-native formats and platform best practices preferred
-
Experience with social first platforms such as CapCut, Descript, Filmore or InShot a plus
-
Basic familiarity with camera operation, audio capture, and field production a plus
-
Commitment to the mission and values of the campaign – to bring people together and improve the lives of Minnesotans
Desired Attributes
-
An eagerness to learn more about communities in Minnesota
-
Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
-
Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
-
Discreet, professional, and willingness to learn and apply the campaign’s political approach
-
Team player who takes direction well and is eager to learn
