JOB DESCRIPTION

**Overview: **The Middlesex County Democratic Organization (MCDO) is seeking a Digital Political Content Creator to manage and execute our online branding and messaging strategy through all forms of digital and online outreach. This role will be responsible for creating compelling digital content (static, animated, and video), amplifying Local Democratic candidates, supporting Democratic Party events and campaigns, and helping grow engagement across social media, email, texting, and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate is politically savvy, highly organized, creative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced political environment, including evenings and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the party’s social media accounts, including but limited to Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Bluesky

  • Create and schedule original content, including graphics, short videos, captions, and stories

  • Draft concise, on-message copy for posts, graphics, and digital ads

  • Support the Party’s broader communications strategy and messaging priorities countywide and alongside local and legislative campaigns

  • Ensure consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across platforms

  • Live-post and provide real-time coverage of events, conventions, and Election Day activity

  • Promote Democratic candidates, elected officials, and Party’s caucuses and committees

  • Assist with branding toolkits, graphics, and messaging guidance for local campaigns

  • Coordinate with campaigns and consultants to amplify key messages and events

  • Assist with photography, video capture, and content archiving

  • Draft and edit digital statements, email blasts, and website updates

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years working in digital marketing or commensurate experience.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work in the United States and in-person at the Edison office

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality

  • Above-average organizational skills

  • Work well under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks at once

  • Adapt to changing situations on a daily basis

  • Commitment to electing Democrats and promoting MCDO’s goals

  • Access to a reliable mode of transportation, a working laptop, and a cellphone

  • Advanced and demonstrated skill in the use of computers, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Internet research, Canva, Capcut, Facebook Advertising, Loomly, WordPress, Mailchimp; skill in the use of Google applications required

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, problem solve, and make logical conclusions in a fast-paced, campaign-like environment

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a group,

  • Strong grasp on social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, and other social networking tools as they arise

  • Able to work irregular hours, including weekends

  • Working knowledge of local politics
