JOB DESCRIPTION

Josh Elliott is building a grassroots, people-powered campaign for Connecticut Governor. Josh is a Hamden small business owner, fifth-term Democratic State Representative, and Deputy Speaker of the Connecticut House. For years, he’s stood up to the special interests that have made life less affordable and driven families out of our state. Now, he’s running for Governor to bring the new leadership we all deserve. For more on Josh’s background and priorities, go to joshforct.com. The Field Organizer will help channel Josh’s volunteer force and scale our campaign across Connecticut’s 169 towns and municipalities.

Core responsibilities

  • Activate and engage volunteers to help reach voters across the state

  • Execute a high-volume voter contact program (door-to-door, phone, and text) to meet weekly identification, persuasion, and turnout goals

  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteers into leaders who can run their own phonebanks, canvasses, and outreach events

  • Identify leads for grassroots fundraising in coordination with the team

  • Track, manage, and report on all volunteer and voter data using campaign tools ensuring data integrity and progress toward goals

  • Work closely with the full staff team to align organizing efforts with political, digital, and communications strategy, and deliver daily written updates

  • Support broader campaign priorities as needed, including events and rapid-response organizing efforts

What we value for this position

  • Tireless work ethic and flexibility to work evenings and weekends

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Connecticut (with gas reimbursed)

  • Strong communicator who can connect with a diverse range of volunteers, voters, and team members

  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Commitment to the values, vision, and goals of the campaign
