JOB DESCRIPTION
The New York State Democratic Committee seeks Coordinated Campaign Deputy Organizing Directors to join our team in 2026. Deputy Organizing Directors will assist the Organizing Director in planning and executing the statewide organizing program utilizing both volunteer and paid field tactics to turn out voters for the 2026 elections. They will also manage a team of Regional Organizing Directors and hold staff accountable to quantitate and qualitative metrics. Ideal candidates are highly motivated, creative thinkers who are dedicated to electing Democrats up and down the ballot.
The Deputy Organizing Director will:

Hire and coach a team of Regional Organizing Directors, Field Organizers, and other paid staff as assigned to execute organizing programs in assigned regions

Develop accountability systems to ensure the campaign accomplishes voter contact and volunteer goals and adheres to established data standards

Assist the Organizing Director in developing a statewide training and professional development program to build core competencies in all levels of staff

Motivate a large and diverse team to flourish in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Organizing Director
Ideal Experience and Characteristics:

3+ cycles of organizing experience, with at least one cycle as a manager on a large operation preferred

Demonstrated cultural competence and the skills needed to work meaningfully with those who are culturally different from the self; a commitment to fostering a positive working environment grounded in the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion
