The Alaska Democratic Party (ADP) is seeking an experienced Deputy Data Director for the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. The Deputy Data Director will support the statewide data program, helping to manage and implement data tools, analytics, and reporting processes that power the campaign’s organizing, voter contact, and voter access programs.

The Deputy Data Director will oversee staff, support cross-department collaboration, and ensure high-quality, actionable data is available for leadership and field teams. This is a full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska, with travel as needed. This position reports to the Data Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Data Director in designing and implementing the campaign’s statewide data program, including analytics, reporting, and targeting.

• Build and maintain automated and ad-hoc reports to evaluate organizing, volunteer recruitment, and voter contact programs.

• Work closely with campaign departments to collect, analyze, and present actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.

• Administer NGP VAN and other volunteer and voter contact tools, developing training, best practices, and support documentation.

• Create targeted volunteer and voter contact universes tailored to specific contact modes and program objectives.

• Analyze program results and present findings and recommendations to campaign leadership.

• Manage up to 1–2 data staff or fellows, providing coaching, feedback, and fostering an inclusive and accountable team culture.

• Ensure data quality, maintain pipelines, and troubleshoot issues to guarantee smooth operations across programs.

• Collaborate with Organizing, Impact, Voter Access, Communications, and Political departments to integrate data insights into program execution.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Data Director

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience

• 1+ cycles of data work in an electoral campaign OR organizing experience + a demonstrated interest in political campaign data work.

• Advanced experience with VAN, Excel, and Google Sheets.

• Familiarity with predictive models, voter targeting, and their application to campaign programs.

• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Intermediate SQL experience; advanced experience preferred.

• Experience analyzing large datasets and writing automations using coding languages like R or Python preferred.

• Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, Shiny) preferred.

• Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills; able to translate analysis into actionable campaign plans.

• Ability to manage staff, provide mentorship, and build an inclusive team culture.

Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Experience

• Previous experience in political campaign organizing or political field operations (signature gathering, etc.)

• Experience with dbt or other SQL orchestration frameworks.

• Experience with Git/GitHub and version control processes.

• Experience with static and interactive GIS tools (QGIS, R, or python mapping).

• Experience automating and controlling google sheets with pygsheets or gspread.

• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate pace of work.

Compensation and Location

The salary for this role is $7,000 a month.

The final date of employment will be 11/15/2026.

Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Alaska. Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout the state for up to several days at a time and must have a valid driver’s license.
