JOB DESCRIPTION
Copper State Victory–the 2026 Coordinated Campaign to elect Arizona Democrats–is seeking a Deputy Voter Protection Director to support management of the statewide voter access and protection program. Arizona is a pivotal battleground state in 2026, from protecting our last line of defense in Governor Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, and Attorney General Kris Mayes to flipping the state Legislature and key red-to-blue congressional seats. Joining the CSV team means being a part of the premier offensive line for Arizona Democrats up and down the ballot.
Description
The Deputy Voter Protection Director will work closely with the Voter Protection Director to design and implement recruitment programming for poll observers, poll workers, and close election volunteers. The ideal candidate is someone with campaign or other organizing experience, as well as strong problem solving and communication skills.
Location: Phoenix, AZ
**Start Date: **June 2026
Salary: $7,500/month
Benefits: Eligible for UnitedHealthcare medical, dental, and vision plans at no premium
Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle and will require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.

Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Voter Protection Director to develop statewide voter protection programming

Manage Coordinated voter protection staff in volunteer recruitment and management

Develop volunteer pipelines and processes for recruiting, training, shifting, managing, and providing feedback to volunteers

Create volunteer resources and oversee trainings for staff, volunteers, and voters

Develop and maintain an understanding of how to vote in Arizona

Utilize and maintain voter protection volunteer data in VAN, ensuring organization and data integrity
-
Manage and maintain interdepartmental communication on campaign-wide programs and strategic imperatives

Manage voter protection programming around ballot processing, ballot, count, ballot cure, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:

One or more cycles of campaign experience or other organizing experience

Strong cross team communication and organizational skills in order to support communication with CSV staff, county election officials, and partner organizations

Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in order to meet deadlines

Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and work with other team members, as well as a desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite programs

Spanish or other language fluency a plus
