Description & Details
The April McClain Delaney for Congress campaign is seeking a full-time or part-time Deputy Organizer for the 2026 primary and general election. A Deputy Organizer will work on volunteer engagement, voter contact, and visibility activities necessary for AMD for Congress to win this highly competitive seat. A Deputy Organizer will be responsible for engaging voters and volunteers, and will report directly to the Organizing Director or an Organizer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Contact volunteers and voters;

Lead phone banks, text banks, canvassing, and other organizing activities;

Build relationships with community partners;

Leverage digital voter contact and tools;

Work collaboratively to ensure goals are being met.
Our ideal candidate for the position has the following qualifications and attributes:

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a flexible, unflappable demeanor and strong listening skills;

Required to be based in the Maryland/DC area, willing to travel to an office and be in-person regularly, and flexible to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends;

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation;

No Campaign or political experience required;

Understanding of American politics and important current events;

Bilingual in English/Spanish and ties to Maryland politics are pluses but not required.
