About the Race
Virginia's 7th District is one of the most competitive open-seat congressional races in the country. Joe Schiarizzi is an inventor, small business owner, and affordable housing activist who's running because working families are being priced out of their communities while politicians stay beholden to corporate donors. As your representative, he'll fight to declare a national housing emergency, address the climate crisis, and hold the Trump regime accountable.
What Will You Do?
Joe is hiring a full-time Field Director to lead and execute all field operations starting ASAP through the August 4, 2026 primary election and, when we win, through the November 3, 2026 General Election. This position is based in Fairfax/Arlington,VA.
Responsibilities:
-
Develop and execute an aggressive field plan built for a competitive congressional race including volunteer recruitment, voter contact, GOTV, and data-driven targeting
-
Recruit, train, and manage field staff and a large volunteer operation across the district
-
Set clear goals, track progress relentlessly, and adjust strategy when needed
-
Ensure data integrity and use of targeting tools (VAN/Votebuilder, metrics, reporting)
-
Lead early vote and mail ballot programs
-
Foster a campaign culture that's respectful, hard-working, and mission-driven
Who You Are:
-
2+ cycles of field experience, including at least one cycle managing or overseeing a large-scale field program (congressional, statewide, or high-stakes local race)
-
Previously held Field Organizer, Regional Field Director, or Field Director roles
-
Deep understanding of early vote, vote-by-mail, and GOTV execution
-
Passionate about progressive politics and the power of organizing to win elections
-
Scrappy, compassionate, curious, and competent, with gumption
-
Highly organized with the ability to manage a large and growing organization of field organizers, interns, and volunteers, in a landscape of shifting priorities, on tight deadlines
-
Willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Valid driver's license (required) and reliable transportation (preferred)
