About Rob Sand:
Auditor Rob Sand – Iowa's only Democrat in statewide or federal office and the state's most popular elected official – made a historic entrance into the open governor's race, raising a record-breaking $2.25 million in the first 24 hours. Having served as Assistant Iowa Attorney General and Iowa's chief public corruption prosecutor, Rob was first elected Auditor in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 with strong bipartisan support. In 2025, his campaign raised a record-breaking $9.5 million – more than double the previous state record and more than the entire GOP field combined. The Cook Political Report has since moved the race to Toss Up, and the latest public poll shows Rob leading his top GOP opponent by two points.
