JOB DESCRIPTION

The Communications Advisor for the Democratic Party of New Mexico works

with the Executive Director, Chair, DPNM Communications Director, and campaign stakeholders

to drive earned media coverage and communicate the Democratic messaging. This position is

responsible for carrying out the party’s overall communications and messaging strategy for the

2026 gubernatorial race. This is an on-the-record role which will include executing internal and

external communications, developing communications plans, executing events, and working

with reporters.

The position will focus on New Mexico’s gubernatorial race, and may at times involve work

relating to other races in the state. The position will report to the Democratic gubernatorial

campaign’s senior staff, DPNM Communications Director, and the Democratic Party of New

Mexico Executive Director for HR and operations purposes.
