JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ford for Governor campaign is seeking a full-time Social Media Manager to join our digital team. The Social Media Manager will report to the Digital Director and lead day-to-day social media and digital content management, including driving social strategy, producing digital assets, and growing our social media following.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating original social media content across the Aaron Ford and Team Ford accounts

  • Maintaining the social media calendar to create and track outgoing posts in a timely manner

  • Leading the content process from ideating to drafting to filming to editing to posting

  • Planning and scaling video content across channels, especially short-form vertical video

  • Capturing content, including photos and video content, at campaign events

  • Tracking content approval processes with the communications and research teams

  • Tracking online conversation and identifying trends to use across platforms

  • Using data, trends, and tactics to achieve steady growth across social media accounts

  • Directing supporters online to boost content engagement, including during rapid response

  • Participating in strategy around social media influencer and creator collaborations

  • Helping manage stakeholders including digital fellows and external consultants

  • Assisting with other digital team or campaign-related activities as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing and growing social media accounts

  • Experience with basic graphic design and video editing programs (e.g. CapCut, Canva)

  • An eye for attention-grabbing content that will succeed on social media

  • Ability to work swiftly under tight deadlines with a penchant for efficiency

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently

  • Ability to move quickly in fast-paced situations such as rapid response moments

  • Access to a car and ability to travel with the candidate and campaign in Nevada as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of digital production best practices, such as angles and lighting

  • Experience managing and maximizing digital time with a principal

  • Previous experience on a competitive statewide campaign or Nevada ties
