JOB DESCRIPTION

Josh Turek for Iowa is seeking a talented, organized, and creative ** Social Media Manager** to join the campaign’s digital team. The Social Media Manager will play a key role in sharing the campaign’s message online by managing and executing content across the campaign’s social media channels, including X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and more.

The ideal candidate for this position is a strong writer and digital communicator who is passionate about creating compelling online content and helping elect a leader like Josh Turek to the U.S. Senate. This person will report to the Digital Director and will be expected to relocate to Des Moines, Iowa ASAP.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage campaign social media accounts, including drafting, calendaring, and publishing content

  • Write compelling, creative, and engaging copy that captures Josh Turek’s voice and campaign message across social media platforms

  • Help develop and grow the campaign’s vertical video program across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

  • Assist in producing media assets, including graphics, short-form videos, and other digital content

  • Create toolkits and work with partners, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify campaign messaging

  • Track and analyze social media metrics and platform performance to help optimize strategy and content

  • Be creative and innovative to maximize online engagement, especially during campaign events and rapid response moments

  • Assist in staffing campaign events and collecting content

  • Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have:

  • 2-3+ years of experience managing social media platforms for a candidate, organization, or brand

  • Strong writing skills, with experience drafting engaging and on-message copy for a variety of social media platforms, ideally on behalf of a principal or public-facing organization

  • Strong understanding of online trends, platform best practices, and digital culture

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Graphic design and video editing skills, with experience using software like the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar programs strongly preferred

  • Valid driver’s license, and reliable access to a vehicle preferred
