Pat Ryan for Congress is seeking a Digital Director. In 2024, Rep. Pat Ryan (NY-18) won a tough frontline district by 13%, the highest battleground overperformance by a Democrat nationwide. We’re building the team we’ll need to win again in 2026 and beyond.
We are looking for a strategic, creative, and hardworking Digital Director who’s not afraid to take risks and will lead and grow our online program and brand. We are able to be flexible (especially in terms of timeline) for the right candidate.
Responsibilities

Working closely with the Communications Director, fully own and shape Rep. Ryan’s digital program and brand across all lanes – social media, digital organizing, etc

Coordinate with the Finance Director to execute a robust digital fundraising operation, which can include email, texting, and social media

Approach the digital program with a marketing mindset, with a focus on how to best connect with audience segments via a variety of channels

Build relationships with creators and new media partners

Develop copy and content for digital platforms, including social posts, graphics, scripts, and video, that are consistent in tone and reach our target audiences

Work with our broader team to craft emails that are consistent with our tone and execute key campaign goals, including fundraising and volunteer mobilization

Monitor the news and social media for potential rapid response moments across platforms

Create and maintain a digital plan and trackers to monitor key metrics against goals

Staff the Congressman at events and capture photos/video from events

Required Qualifications

Smart, creative, hard-working individual deeply committed to making change

Strong communicator, able to quickly adapt to a principal’s voice, grab attention, and articulate a vision

Detail-oriented and the ability to meet deadlines and track projects closely

Experience with digital fundraising including email and text programs is a plus

Ability with a CRM or other database software and willingness to quickly learn new programs

Deep understanding of social media trends and best practices; and a dedication to creating content accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities

Experience creating and managing a social media calendar(s)

Graphic design, video production, or other creative competencies a plus

Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a history of working with a communicative and collaborative approach

Driver's license and access to a car

Campaign experience is a plus but is not required – transferrable experience in marketing, social media, and digital for other brands/principals will be strongly considered
This is a full-time position that will be based in Washington, DC and may require temporary relocation to the Hudson Valley (NY) in the fall, with a competitive salary range of $8,000-9,000 a month plus health benefits.
