Ohioans for Amy Acton Operations Associate

Ideal Start Date: rolling basis

Reports to: Deputy Operations Director

Employment type: Full-time

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary: $5,000 monthly

Summary of Position:

Ohioans for Amy Acton is seeking an Operations Associate to join our campaign staff. This role will be a key part of our logistical and operational team, and will support the Deputy Operations Director in areas of administration, scheduling, and advance.

You’re an ideal candidate if you have strong time and organizational management skills, are a diligent communicator, and are comfortable working closely with a high level principal. This role requires close attention to detail, dependability, and a willingness to problem-solve, as well as a high level of emotional intelligence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Deputy Operations Director with administrative tasks, including:

  • Managing office needs and supplies

  • Building and maintaining tracking systems for meetings, contacts with stakeholders, and public facing events

  • Receipt tracking & reporting on spending to the Operations Director and Campaign Manager

  • Taking notes and distributing meeting agendas as needed

  • Supporting the Deputy Operations Director with tasks, including:

  • Coordinating with vendors for needs at events

  • Maintaining inventories of physical assets, such as stickers, posters, t-shirts, etc

  • Maintaining tracking documents for events, such as rsvp lists, to do lists and agendas, receipts, among other items

  • Staffing events around the state as needed to support the Deputy Operations Director

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 cycle of work experience on a campaign, or 2 years of equivalent experience in operations or scheduling

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good humor, flexibility in the face of changing circumstances, and the ability to quickly adapt and problem-solve

  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced, shifting environment and keep up with breaking news

  • Willingness to learn, share, and collaborate across departments

  • Willingness to work long hours and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience managing interns

  • Experience staffing a high level principal

  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with Ohio ties

Compensation:

  • Salary: $5,000 per month

  • Benefits options include: health, dental, vision

  • Leave: Paid time off will be available per campaign policy.

  • Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle, and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
